Yesterday, life was calm as I sat at my parents’ place, preparing for a court date I thought was set for today. Suddenly, my phone rang—it was our social worker, asking why I wasn’t in court. As it turns out, I had the dates mixed up. Thankfully, the case was postponed until February, giving me a little more time to regroup.
With a few extra hours to spare, we decided to stay in town. I had work tasks to handle, and it was just more practical to use the time well. That’s when I received another unexpected call, this time from Radixtrie. Let me fill you in: I’ve been navigating one of the most unique interview processes of my life. Both sides have genuinely felt like a good match, and I was nearly through—until today. After completing a security check, I found a fraud alert attached to my name. Shocked, I quickly dug into it and discovered that my ID had been flagged due to a 2020 data breach at Absa. Though this special care list is meant to prevent fraud, it still threw a wrench in the hiring process until we can get it sorted. But I remain hopeful that it’ll all work out.
After a whirlwind morning, we packed up for TerraLuna and hit the road. Along the way, I called our beloved “plaas Ma,” Tannie Biebie. Hearing her voice on the other end of the line, I knew something was wrong. She sounded broken, burdened by malicious rumors and the weight of a solitary life. A while back, she had asked if she could move to TerraLuna, and today, she said it was time. Without a second thought, the Wolfqueen and I told her the door was open.
We’ve since decided not to offer the house as a free rental. Instead, we’ve seen an opportunity to create the TerraLuna BBB—Biebie’s Bed and Breakfast. By helping Tannie Biebie run the house as a B&B, we can provide her with a business opportunity, support the community’s growth, and uplift local amenities, all with the potential of making this a zero-cost initiative for TerraLuna. More on this plan soon!
Meanwhile, Allen, who joined us on Sunday, has brought his own unique energy to TerraLuna. He arrived unexpectedly, a last-minute call to say he was almost here. Though his arrival bypassed our usual process, Allen seems to have a purpose for being here. He’s also proven to be a multimedia genius, so stay tuned for some creative projects on the horizon.
Allen’s arrival has inspired me to reconnect with a purpose I had almost forgotten: life coaching. Specifically, I aim to uplift divorced men and help them rebuild with strength and dignity. Today marks the beginning of a new support group—the Men of TerraLuna, all of us united by a common past and a desire to support one another’s growth. This group is not just about resilience but about finding wisdom in shared experience.
Our community feels more vibrant than ever, and for the first time, it feels like we’re fulfilling TerraLuna’s mission. With a currency of love and unwavering support, we’re building something sustainable and beautiful, a place where brokenness transforms into strength and purpose. Today was a whirlwind, but it was also a day of new beginnings. And through every twist, I am reminded why I chose this path—to uplift, to connect, and to build a life where everyone has a place.
